Synthetic hair extensions can be amazing when used for photoshoots and editorial work, such as adding a long glossy ponytail or maybe a splash of colour. Synthetic hair however does not compare to real human remy hair extensions. Why you ask?
- You are unable to heat synthetic hair. If you do it will burn and clump together like plastic, kind of the last thing you want right?! So definitely NO hairdryers, irons or any heat styling tool can be applied to the hair, otherwise watch that hair burn and fizzle! What’s the point of having extra hair if you can’t do any proper styling with it?
- Synthetic hair cannot be coloured, treated or toned. This makes it very difficult to have synthetic hair extensions that match your existing hair colour. Whereas, with human hair, you have a large variety of colour choices, and you have the ability to change the colour and tone of the hair which makes achieving a perfect colour match simple.
- When you get up close, it doesn’t look like or behave like real hair. Synthetic hair has a plastic look and feel; you can barely run your fingers or a brush through it as it tangles very easily. So it has not so great a feeling compared with your existing hair.
Overall if your looking just to have a bit of fun with colour or style for a special event then there is of course no harm in giving synthetic extensions or wigs a go. However if you’re after natural and beautiful quality hair that can be wore with any hair texture – straight, wavy and curly, and have longevity and be styled as you please, then human hair is what you want!
